+OneX, solutions and systems supplier for South African IT giant Reunert Group, has reached an agreement to acquire MMC, a privately owned cybersecurity and managed services firm, for an undisclosed amount.

By acquiring MMC, +OneX has expanded its range of cloud and digital transformation services to include cybersecurity and Compliance as a Service (CaaS).

MMC was founded in 1991 and has been a Microsoft Solutions Partner ever since. It provides mission-critical IT-managed services with an emphasis on protecting confidential information. The purchase of MMC will allow OneX to expand its cybersecurity division by using the company’s existing platforms and expertise pool.

MMC possesses a team of Microsoft-trained security specialists to assist businesses in fending off cybercriminals who pose a continual risk to their data and personnel. Data privacy and compliance services are also provided by the organisation to assist businesses in ascertaining and maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

MMC, a perfect match for +OneX business

MMC’s managing director, Adam Whittington, will lead +OneX Security & Services, which helps businesses with all areas of cybersecurity, from endpoint to cloud, with a strong focus on people, processes, and technology. By using MMC’s platforms and talents, +OneX will be able to grow its cybersecurity company swiftly.

“With its existing base of enterprise clients, complementary solutions portfolio, and agile approach to the market, +OneX ticks all the right boxes for us,” Whittington says. We have discovered a stakeholder in +OneX who shares our vision and will help us take our company to the next level. By working together, we can help businesses access the full potential of Microsoft’s security stack.”

Rob Godlonton, CEO of +OneX” said, ”As enterprises accelerate their migration to the cloud, embrace digital transformation, and continue to support hybrid working models, they are exposed to a complex and rapidly expanding set of cybersecurity threats,”. However, most firms lack simple access to the expert risk and security capabilities required to handle this ever-evolving and complex operating environment.”

“With its close fit with our entrepreneurial culture, MMC is an excellent fit for our company.” MMC has unique capabilities in the Microsoft environment, which gives it a significant edge in today’s cybersecurity scene. Microsoft is the world’s largest business security company and one of the few suppliers to provide a complete, next-generation cybersecurity solution that spans the conventional data centre and the cloud.”

Background of +OneX

+OneX is a brand founded with a long-term goal to have a legacy of leaving every situation in a better state than how it was originally. In a social situation, a +one is an additional guest you take along with you to an event; however, in a business setting, a +one is an associate or partner who will travel with you to solve problems.

The “+” in the name refers to our drive to constantly improve both the situation and performance of the client’s business as well as the state of whoever’s lives we can influence. This ties back to our purpose of creating opportunities to improve people’s lives.

The “one” is inspired by inclusivity and speaks to the organisation and all its connected relationships as a whole and that there’s always room for the inclusion of another one, whether that be another client, partner or another person joining +OneX

The “X” represents the exponential capabilities of technology, as well as unknown factors that the future holds. It is our willingness to adapt to change and our ability to innovate, be proactive and stay ahead of the curve. It also represents the X-factor in our people in the +One” X” organisation.
