Spotify‘s ‘DJ’ feature, which is powered by artificial intelligence and personalised music recommendations, is now making its way to Nigeria, as well as other places across the world, marking a massive expansion six months after the tool was originally introduced in North America.

The DJ is powered by artificial intelligence, and it provides users with personalised music recommendations while also providing spoken-word commentary in a synthetic voice. This functionality may be accessed through the “music” feed section of the Spotify mobile app. It has humorous exchanges in addition to contextual notes, naming particular songs and artists that users have previously cherished.

This information was disclosed by the corporation in a blog post. According to the contents of the post: “DJ is a personalized AI guide that knows you and your music taste so well it can choose what to play for you. DJ provides a new and different way for fans and artists to connect.”

This AI-powered DJ serves much the same purpose as a presenter of a radio programme in that it selects content that is tailored to specifically appeal to each listener. Xavier “X” Jernigan, who is the Head of Cultural Partnerships at Spotify, served as the inspiration for the first voice model for DJ. Now, listeners in certain areas all around the world will have the opportunity to hear commentary in English, and they will also be able to receive recommendations from their own personal DJ.

In addition, the statement stated: “At its core, DJ is all about connection and discovery. DJ’s powerful combination of our personalization technology, generative AI in the hands of our music experts, and a dynamic AI voice makes it possible for listening to feel even more personal, and fans keep coming back for more.“

How premium Spotify users in Nigeria can obtain the artificial intelligence feature

Discovering your very own personalised DJ experience is simple in Nigeria if you are a customer of Spotify Premium and if you are in a market where DJ is available. All you need is to be in the right location. Launching the Spotify mobile app on your iOS/iPhone or Android smartphone is all that is required of you to get started.

Once you have logged in, navigate to the Home section and select the Music feed by tapping on it. You may also access the DJ feature by going to the Search page and navigating to the Made for You hub. The DJ AI tool will automatically curate song mixes that are suited particularly to your preferences. These mixes will also include succinct comments in English about the artists and songs that are included in the mix.
