This move is being made with the intention of assisting companies and organisations in digitising their operations, which will provide flexibility and resilience in an environment that is always evolving.
The refreshed cloud services are driven by technology developed by VMware and are being hosted in data centres in the cities of Nairobi and Kisumu. In addition to the existing offers, the upgraded services enable clients to run their applications with the adaptability to assign cloud computing capabilities on a uniform interface. This is a significant improvement. Customers now have the ability to purchase cloud computing capabilities in bulk and to customise the environment to better fit the requirements of their particular business applications due to this enhancement.

The enterprise customers of Safaricom’s cloud services will be granted the flexibility to expand their operations through the use of adaptable computing resources and OPEX models. This will be made possible by Safaricom. This will provide them with the capabilities necessary to run their business from any location, providing highly available access to their operations and delivering reliable operations to their final customers.
Providing Hosting Services That Are Safe to Use
In addition, the cloud services include the provision of secure hosting services for business applications; the resolution of concerns regarding the residency of data; and the assurance of safe connectivity and payment integrations with business applications that are hosted securely on the cloud.
Cloud computing as a service was first made available by Safaricom in 2010, initially in the form of Infrastructure as a Service. Consumption of the service was initially centred on Virtual Machines and Managed Service rather than Self-Service.
