Africa StartUps to Benefit from EatSafe Innovation Challenge

The EatSafe Innovation Challenge, a project of the US government’s global hunger and food security initiative, has invited submissions for innovators to share their ideas for adapting and implementing current food safety improvements in traditional markets in Nigeria and Ethiopia.

Mentorship, technical training, and networking opportunities with leading industry players, investors, researchers, and academics will be available to participants at the national and international levels.

EatSafe Innovation Challenge Application Process

From April to October, there will be national pitching events in Nigeria and Ethiopia, with a global final in Denmark, and the tournament will be an international endeavor.

Feed the Future and the SUN Business Network (SBN) and the Innovative Food System Portal are looking for food safety-minded entrepreneurs, students, researchers, and other innovators in Nigeria and Ethiopia to participate in the EatSafe program.

The winners of each country’s EatSafe Innovation Challenge will participate in the finals of the Global EatSafe Innovation Challenge.

The Global EatSafe Innovation Challenge will be hosted in Denmark and will provide a $10,000 prize to the winning proposal submitted by applicants. The deadline for submitting an application is Saturday, April 30th 2022.
