With the release of Google Bard extensions, the AI helper can now work with all of Google’s services without any problems. At the moment, extensions are only available for Google’s apps, but they have a lot of great features.

Now, YouTube, Google Workspace, Maps, Hotels, and Flights, among other places, can instantly give Bard the information it needs. This makes planning trips and other events easier without taking away from the Bard discussion at any point.

How to Make Use of the Google Bard Extensions

Now that you’ve successfully given Bard access to several partner services and linked your Google account to it, let’s look at some real-life examples of how to make the most of this newfound synergy:

Bard was first asked to use the Google Flights add-on to find me the cheapest flights from Nairobi to Malindi.

In the middle of the conversation, I asked Google Bard to find me a cheap place to stay in Malindi.

Bard showed the results of using the Wherever You Hotels extension instantly for the given date.

After that, it used Google Maps in Bard to make a plan.

You can also directly choose which extension to use for a specific task by entering “@” and the extension’s name, like @YouTube or @Google Flights. This lets you choose exactly when you want Bard to use a particular tool.

The Google Bard add-ons show how useful it could be to have an AI helper that can talk to well-known online stores. However, it is still very early in the game. It shows a glimpse of how digital experiences will be simplified and driven by AI in the future.

Bard can handle more complicated questions now that Google’s tools are built in. The extensions have great features for their first version.
