TBD is a tool for developers that aims to open the world of decentralized finance to everyone.
People who join the DevCareer Hackathon can learn more about Web 5 technology and autonomous technologies. A new identity layer for the web is provided by Web 5, a decentralized platform that makes decentralized apps and protocols possible. Developers, designers, technical writers, and tech fans from Africa can show off their skills, meet other people with similar interests, and fight for a $30,000 prize pool at this hands-on event.

The virtual Hackathon runs from Nov 20th to Dec 15th and features three phases:
Learning Phase: TBD’s staff will lead an essential webinar. The purpose is to prepare participants for the hackathon and exchange Web5 development materials.
Writing Phase: Participants record and explain their solutions. They are sharing learning resources through public posts and articles.
Building Phase: This is the ‘Hackathon’ or competition phase, where teams use Web5 and decentralized technologies to solve problems.
Who can attend the Web5 Hackathon?
Anyone can participate, but only in teams. However, teams shouldn’t include more than four people and at least one woman.
Web apps that solve real-world problems will be created collaboratively. Participants will also learn how to harness Web5 infrastructure to build products for future tech users and generate more money. Finalists will present their work to judges, who will be awarded $30,000.

We aim to motivate participants to create creative Web5 solutions and reward them with cash awards.
Hackathon Rules
People are willing to work together. Team members must have design, engineering, or blockchain skills.
Participants must dedicate time throughout the Hackathon, which runs from November 20th to December 15th (4 weeks).
Registration for the hackathon closes on November 20th. Participants may be asked to submit their name, email address, phone number, and team members before registering (teams can be established during the learning phase).
At least one girl can join teams of four. Team names and leaders must be distinctive.
Participants are encouraged to write about their project path or share learning and building thoughts. This documentation can be articles or blogs.

Participants must provide unique solutions to real-world challenges based on their application emphasis.
Projects must be presented to hackathon judges in time.
The project demo requires a laptop with a microphone and camera and functional internet/Wi-Fi.
Through Web5 technology exploration and application, the Web5 Hackathon transforms people’s and teams’ design, engineering, and blockchain skills.

DevCareer
Non-profit DevCareer trains tech and innovation prospects. The DevCareer website helps underrepresented IT professionals find resources for their studies. In partnership with learning platforms, we offered scholarships, built an inclusive community through the Laptops4Developers boot camp, and engaged with local and international interest groups.
The 27,000-member community has given almost 4,000 scholarships. Our three Laptop4Developers Bootcamp cohorts trained and gave computers to 172 interns, many of whom now work at Healthtracka, Flutterwave, Bento, and Plentywaka directly or remotely.
