Tech Connect Africa’s Flagship Conference, which is to be held in Lagos on December 22, 2023, is aided by uniting Africans living in the diaspora through technological innovations.

Thanks to the establishment of tech start-ups and the substantial funding these companies have raised, the tech community in Africa has expanded significantly over the past ten years. Even though this is a fantastic accomplishment, we really need a sense of community.

Tech Connect Africa (TCA), a global social enterprise with the goal of uniting the African diaspora and paving the way for a future of technology that embraces culture, connection, and community, is one such innovative project.

How it all started

Three visionary leaders, Lord Osei-Ofori, Ayodele Duyile, and Jeminatu Alabi-Isama, brought Tech Connect Africa to life. Using their vast backgrounds at well-known tech companies such as Google and Meta, this trio has brought together like-minded people to create a fantastic tech community. Ayodele is a Senior Technical Product Manager at Google, Jeminatu is the Education Sales Lead, and Lord works as a Programme Manager at Meta.

The Tech Connect Africa community has grown significantly since its founding, and today it includes over 287 tech companies and 52 CEOs operating in a variety of tech sectors, including infrastructure, product management, XR, FinTech, and AI. This vibrant community has developed into a centre for networking, creativity, and cooperation.

Tech Connect Africa brought together executives from Uber, Google, Microsoft, Meta, and other companies for networking summits in Kenya, Ghana, and Nigeria in 2022. These summits established the groundwork for what looks to be an even more significant event in the upcoming year by facilitating casual conversations on important subjects like fintech, cryptocurrency, emerging start-ups, and talent sourcing.

Tech connect is Africa’s flagship conference

Without a doubt, Tech Connect Africa’s Flagship Conference is the highlight of the schedule, and Lagos is the destination this year. Taking place on December 22, 2023, from 12 PM to 7 PM at the esteemed Lagos Continental Hotel, VI, this conference is expected to eclipse earlier iterations in terms of scope and importance.

It is perfectly appropriate that this year’s conference theme, “Unifying the African Diaspora through AI Innovation,” be chosen. Tech Connect Africa is making sure the African tech space doesn’t fall behind in a year where artificial intelligence is dominating the global tech conversation. The conference’s goal is to investigate how AI can be used to strengthen communities, spur innovation, and establish enduring relationships among people of different backgrounds.

The Tech Connect Africa conference in Lagos offers a rare chance for experienced tech executives or start-up founders to network with key industry players. Previous sponsors have included Microsoft, LinkedIn, Bolt, Google, Meta, and other major players in the industry. As a result, attendees can anticipate unmatched networking opportunities and insights.

For those eager to take part in this life-changing event, Tech Connect Africa’s official website, techconnectafrica.com, is where you can purchase tickets. You can also join Tech Connect Africa’s active WhatsApp group, follow them on Instagram, and connect with them on LinkedIn to stay up to date on discussions and updates.
