RightCard Payment Services Limited (LemFi) has announced the resumption of its remittance services to Ghana, following approval from the Bank of Ghana (BoG) to recommence operations with selected partners.

The fintech company officially reinstated its money transfer services to Ghana on Monday February 5, after a temporary suspension in November 2023. With the approval from the Bank of Ghana, RightCard (LemFi) can now resume its operations in Ghana through approved payment companies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

This milestone reflects RightCard’s unwavering commitment to delivering secure and efficient financial services while adhering to the regulatory framework established by the Bank of Ghana.

Innovative Offerings Through LemFi:

RightCard (LemFi) prides itself on delivering innovative services and products to various markets, including Ghana, through its LemFi app. As an Electronic Money Institution licensed by the Financial Conduct Authority in the United Kingdom, LemFi is well-positioned to provide secure and reliable financial solutions.

Precious Ama Kwartemaa Oduro, LemFi’s Country Manager, expressed gratitude to stakeholders at the Bank of Ghana and partners for their collaboration in ensuring the restoration of services. She emphasised LemFi’s renewed commitment to addressing the evolving needs of the Ghanaian market by focusing on improved customer satisfaction, strengthened partnerships, and fostering financial inclusion.

With LemFi’s return to Ghana, customers, both existing and prospective, can benefit from competitive exchange rates, zero transaction fees, and instant transfer delivery. By downloading the LemFi app from the iOS or Google Play Store, individuals can access these advantages while enjoying the convenience and security of digital remittance services.

LemFi’s 2023 Trajectory

Formerly known as Lemonade Finance, RightCard officially changed its name to LemFi in June 2023, as part of plans to simplify and capture the essence of the company’s goal as well as to distinguish itself in the ever evolving financial services industry.

In the same month, LemFi expanded its payment services to Kenya, through a partnership with Pesa Swap, a local startup that processes online and mobile payments. The collaboration targets Kenyans residing  in the US, UK, Canada, and other countries, enabling them to stay in touch with family, friends, and their businesses.

The company successfully secured $33 million in its Series A funding round, in August,  with Left Lane Capital serving as the leading investor. LemFi formed strategic partnerships with organisations such as Y-Combinator, Zrosk, Global Founders Capital, and Olive Tree to achieve the milestone.

Rounding off the year with a high note, LemFi emerged the winner of the  Nigerian Tech Product of the Year for 2023.
