Ukheshe Technologies, a pan-African fintech enabler based in Johannesburg, has announced a new relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to improve the company’s ability to scale on-demand and extend to territories that require rapid and safe transactions.

“The ability to worldwide scale and do so quickly is vital to success in an era where digital payments transcend borders,” says Ukheshe in a statement about the new cooperation.

By joining the AWS Partner Network (APN), Ukheshe can strengthen its own service at scale.

Meanwhile, they now use Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) to operate highly secure, dependable containers, saving up to 50% on computing expenses thanks to auto-scaling, autonomous provisioning, and pay-as-you-go pricing.

Why Ukheshe Choose Amazon ECS

They chose Amazon ECS because it works effortlessly with AWS management and governance solutions, which are standardised for compliance with practically every regulatory agency on the planet.

Donovan Drew, Ukheshe President of Worldwide Partnerships, discusses how customers can on board to Ukheshe global Eclipse API payment orchestration framework within weeks, commenting on the partnership scope.

Telkom Pay, an embedded financing solution, was enabled by Ukheshe for one of South Africa leading telcos, Telkom.

“The unicorns of Africa like Chipper Cash have selected our platform to scale at speed in areas across the globe with the ability to move cash effectively and efficiently, at a fraction of the cost banks traditionally charge,” Drew said of the Eclipse API. These unique value propositions enable significant African fintech firms like Sasai and MTN MoMo to expand alongside us and provide cost-effective financial inclusion products.”

Drew believes Ukheshe is rapidly supplying affordable, quick, and unified payment solutions that actually encourage global individual prosperity and freedom as more countries enable and assist individuals with fair legislation.

“We are really excited about the global growth and scale to come,” Drew adds. “They have proudly serviced 474,000 merchants, signed more than 50 enterprise deals, and grown its staff complement to over 100 people.”

Ukheshe uses Amazon ECS, which enables their financial services businesses to use AWS Outposts to execute containerized apps with extremely low latency to on-premise systems. Outposts is a fully managed solution that connects any connected site to AWS infrastructure, services, APIs, and tools.

“You can manage containers on-premises with the same ease that you can manage containers in the cloud with Amazon ECS on Outposts.” “What makes this journey so exciting is that AWS partners, including Ukheshe, are qualified to use AWS Activate to provide true industry-leading innovation,” says Henri Zietsman, AWS Startup & Venture Capital Business Development Manager.
