Zoho, a global tech company, has joined up with She Code Africa (SCA), a top non-profit that helps female African tech workers gain confidence and skills. Zoho will hold Train the Trainer classes for SCA Academy trainers to show them how to use Zoho Creator, the company’s graphical user interface for making apps.

Further, these teachers will teach more SCA students how to use low-code to create powerful apps that solve real business problems.

The skill-building classes will be held as part of Zoho Creator’s “Young Creators Programme” (YCP). As part of the programme, Zoho will welcome 30 female trainers from the SCA Academy and teach them in-depth how to use low-code technology to build enterprise-level apps over three days. The class will be held at the Zoho office in Lagos, Nigeria. They will also get training materials and free access to the Creator app for a year.

“At Zoho, we support local communities by hiring and training locals, giving local businesses the tools they need with our technology, and encouraging responsible and long-lasting growth.” These values are at the heart of our growth plan, transnational localism. In continuation of this dedication to support progress at the grassroots, we are partnering with She Code Africa to equip Nigerian students with critical tech skills,” said Kehinde Ogundare, Country Head, Zoho Nigeria.

“The “Young Creators Programme” wants to help our young people, who will be the next generation of leaders and professionals, get the technical skills they need and build their skills.” “We’re happy to work with Zoho to help our trainers learn about the newest low-code technologies so they can teach our other students what they’ve learned,” said Maryblessing Okolie, Community Manager.

About Zoho

Zoho established the global Young Creators Programme in 2022 to foster youth creativity and innovation. The programme gives students the tools and resources to build their technology and business skills. This initiative gives young inventors access to Zoho’s apps to realise their ideas.

Participants learn how to build custom apps with Zoho Creator, a low-code platform.

The programme offers workshops, mentorship, and a community of like-minded peers and industry professionals. Zoho hopes to inspire future tech innovators and entrepreneurs by creating a supportive environment. In the Young Creators Programme, students use technology to solve real-world problems, emphasising problem-solving and critical thinking.

The programme has trained over 2000 students worldwide on Zoho Creator, awarding completion certificates and enticing rewards. Zoho seeks to spur creativity and innovation by investing in young people.  Zoho aims to democratise technology and make vital tools available to everybody, regardless of background or resources.
