Save your Prestige Tokens: The best strategy for Black Ops 6 Season 1

With Call of Duty launching on Thursday, players are encouraged to reconsider using Prestige Tokens when buying Black Ops 6 Season 1 Battle Pass. Learning to save your tokens correctly and at the right time is crucial to gameplay and experience.

Prestige Tokens rewards are only earned after players level up in the game, and these tokens are used primarily to purchase weapons and gear after players decide to reset their levels.

In the past, players only used these tokens to buy particular items of their choice after getting into Prestige mode. That said, with the new structure of Battle Pass, this approach may be less efficient than it used to be.

 New weapons without the tokens

Season 1 introduces a host of new weapon blueprints, such as the Tanto.22 Submachine Gun, SVD Sniper Rifle. These weapons are included in the Battle Pass; you do not require Prestige Tokens to get them. This makes it a more efficient way of improving your arsenal without using tokens for items that are relatively easy to obtain anyway.

Smart use of prestige tokens

As with the new weapons, if a player receives these items as part of the Battle Pass, waiting for a specific Prestige Token may be more beneficial to purchase items unavailable through the Battle Pass. Doing so guarantees you are optimising your resources and unleashing hard-worded weapons that are not included in the season’s reward.

Why save your tokens?

You save your tokens for non-Battle Pass items while progressing through tiers offering special or uncommon skins and equipment. This extends the elegance of using the maximum number of tokens to unlock content, which is a shame to spend on content you can unlock just by playing the game through the Battle Pass.

In Black Ops 6 and beyond, paying attention to how you handle your Prestige Tokens will significantly impact your gaming experience.

Tokens should not be spent on buying items for which you can get a Battle Pass, as those are better spent on skins that cannot be unlocked with a pass. Doing so ensures players get the highest value for tokens.
