Cape Verde has seen a major advancement in digital connectivity with the official introduction of Starlink’s high-speed, low-latency internet service.

Cape Verde’s continuous efforts to increase digital inclusion and close the connectivity gap have reached a significant turning point with this development.

“Starlink is now live in Cape Verde! Our 18th market in Africa,” Ben MacWilliams, the team lead for the Starlink Market Access for Africa wrote on its LinkedIn page on Tuesday.

The introduction of Starlink internet in Cape Verde will boost digital inclusion and offer fast connectivity to remote areas.

In places where traditional broadband services are scarce or nonexistent, Starlink offers dependable internet connectivity by avoiding the requirement for traditional broadband infrastructure through the use of satellite-based technologies.

More people will be able to take advantage of quick, dependable internet connections thanks to Starlink’s creative strategy, which makes it possible to reach isolated and underprivileged regions.

About Starlink’s satellite Internet system

Starlink is a satellite internet system that provides worldwide high-speed internet connectivity.

SpaceX created the Starlink satellite constellation system, which uses Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites to deliver internet services.

Satellites in orbit receive signals from ground stations and transfer the information to users on Earth.

Rural and remote locations with spotty or nonexistent internet connectivity are ideal for Starlink.

Among other things, Starlink can facilitate video chats, streaming, and online gaming. Because of its weather-resistant architecture, Starlink can tolerate severe winds, sleet, snow, and rain.

The security of Starlink’s satellites, gateways, internet exchange points, and the Starlink kits that consumers use at home is under its purview.
