On January 9, 2025, Konecta, a leading Spanish digital services company, announced the establishment of its regional headquarters in New Cairo, Egypt.

This initiative is part of a $100 million investment plan to enhance the company’s operations in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

The announcement was made during a ceremony attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Communications Amr Talaat.

Investment and job creation

Konecta’s plan includes hiring nearly 3,000 specialists over the next three years to provide advanced digital services such as artificial intelligence solutions, cybersecurity, and multilingual customer support in several languages, including English, French, and German.

The company will launch its first Global Center of Excellence for Generative AI in Egypt, designed to foster local talent and innovation in emerging technologies.

Nourdine Bihmane, Konecta’s Group CEO, expressed his enthusiasm for the project: “By establishing our regional headquarters in Egypt, we aim to harness the country’s exceptional talent pool to deliver cutting-edge digital solutions.”

Strategic partnership

The partnership between Konecta and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) reflects Egypt’s growing appeal as a hub for global companies.

Minister Talaat emphasized that this investment underscores Egypt’s competitiveness in the ICT sector: “The growth of the offshoring industry and the rising interest from global companies in establishing service centres in Egypt highlight the country’s competitiveness in this thriving sector”.

This collaboration marks a significant step for Konecta as it seeks to expand its regional footprint while contributing to local job creation and technological advancement.
