The launch of “Generation AI: Boosting 1000 Moroccan SMEs” initiative was announced on Tuesday, February 4 by the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), in collaboration with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the professional social network LinkedIn.

“Generation AI” seeks to address the Moroccan economic ecosystem’s increasing demand for digital acceleration by enhancing the abilities of entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurs will gain access to LinkedIn learning licenses through this program, which will enable them to fully take advantage of the potential presented by AI and develop necessary skills.

They will also get access to a number of training programs that address strategic topics including innovation, sustainable development, and digital transformation. Individual and non-transferable permits will remain in effect until September 2025.

This effort takes place at a time when digital transformation has emerged as a crucial competitive advantage for Moroccan businesses.

27% African business leaders adopted Generative AI

In contrast to the global average of 32 percent, 27 percent of African business leaders polled for a report released on May 30 by the audit and consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) state that their organisation has already implemented generative AI.

A poll of 380 African leaders served as the basis for the study, which was carried out in 105 nations and revealed a relative lag in the adoption of this technology on the continent.

This initiative seeks to significantly influence the entrepreneurial fabric with the help of the Technopark and the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Morocco (AFEM).

Through promoting AI use and helping SMEs build their abilities, this effort may help integrate emerging technologies more successfully, which would boost Moroccan businesses’ competitiveness and growth in the digital era.

AI is becoming a major force behind company expansion in the digital age. Small and medium-sized enterprises must use these new technologies to increase their capacity for innovation and operational effectiveness if they want to stay competitive.
