Gradely, a Nigerian edtech company named Adebayo Alomaja, Deputy CEO. Since joining Gradely as a tutor in 2019, Adebayo Alomaja has helped the company’s international tutoring business reach six-figure yearly recurring revenue.

Alomaja, popularly called“BayoGPT,” will focus on Gradely’s growth strategy and its effect on his new job.

Gradely was officially launched in 2021 by Boye Oshinaga, though the idea and initial development started earlier. The platform focuses on personalised learning for K-12 kids from kindergarten to Senior Secondary School 3 (Nigeria’s 12th grade), using AI-driven assessments and real-time feedback to improve academic performance.

Before launching Gradely, he co-founded Youngsoul Limited, an education-focused technology company, and worked on other ventures to improve African learning outcomes.

Adebayo Alomaja outlines growth strategy, rebrand plans for Gradely

Adebayo Alomaja expressed his enthusiasm for the new position, stating, “This presents a great opportunity for me to solve bigger problems, and I’m looking forward to the adventure,”

Alomaja plans to assess Gradely’s growth tactics, invest in market insights, and rebrand the company in the following months.

He outlined his key priorities, emphasising the importance of fostering a supportive team environment and enhancing customer focus.“For the team, we’ll double down on psychological safety and teamwork. For the product, we’ll be more customer-centric while improving our Net Promoter Score. And for marketing, we’ll expand our diaspora growth team,” he noted.

Gradely eyes global edtech growth

Boye Oshinaga, CEO of Gradely, praised Alomaja’s capabilities, stating, “Adebayo has proven to be not just an exceptional educator but a visionary leader with strong business acumen. What’s most exciting for me is to have someone that thinks long term and is as strategic as myself in building alongside me and the team”.

On Gradely’s vision, Oshinaga said, “Gradely’s vision is to build highly innovative edtech and education products for a global market while solving the deep challenges of basic education back home.”

Gradely empowers teachers and provides data-driven student performance tracking in Nigeria’s competitive edtech market. Competitors like uLesson focus on offline material and data costs.

Online teaching and adaptive learning approaches are key to the company’s business model, which targets parents seeking dedicated Internet solutions.

Alomaja started Eazi-Digi, an education consulting firm, before becoming Deputy CEO. Research, technology, and networking help Eazi-Digi create future-ready learning systems with schools.

As Gradely enters its fifth year, this leadership change shows a commitment to sustainable growth in a challenging sector. Unfortunately, Edukoya closed despite investor support in Nigeria’s edtech sector.
