On Tuesday, Mali unveiled two innovative digital platforms to transform public service delivery. Prime Minister Abdoulaye Maïga introduced “Trésor Pay,” a payment platform developed in collaboration with Malian mobile money operators.

This system simplifies payments for services such as national identity cards, passports, traffic fines, and fixed penalties.

Designed by the Support Unit for the Computerisation of Tax and Financial Services (CAISFF) alongside the National Directorate of Treasury and Public Accounting, “Trésor Pay” is already operational at key locations like the Directorate General of Transport and Commune IV’s City Hall. The platform enhances payment security and accessibility for citizens.

During the launch, Maïga emphasised the importance of leveraging technology to improve governance and public service efficiency. “This initiative reflects our commitment to modernising administrative services and ensuring transparency in financial transactions,” he stated.

The second platform, known as the Land Information System/One-Stop Land Office (SIF/GUF), revolutionises land management processes in Mali. This system consolidates all land-related operations into a single digital framework, reducing bureaucracy and improving efficiency. It is set to be implemented across Bamako’s seven districts within the year, aligning with the Government Action Program (PAG).

President Assimi Goita highlighted the broader implications of these platforms during the official ceremony. “Digitalisation is not just about convenience; it is a tool for accountability and inclusion,” he remarked.

The government’s digitisation efforts have already yielded results, with Mali climbing 13 places in the United Nations e-Government Development Index (EGDI) to rank 141st out of 193 countries. These platforms are expected to enhance public revenue collection and governance further while addressing challenges in accessibility and efficiency.

Mali’s broader digital transformation strategy includes initiatives for its diaspora, such as simplifying access to administrative documents through advanced security protocols. These developments underscore Mali’s commitment to building a responsive and efficient administration.
