Paratus, Africa’s top pan-African telecom provider and an authorised Starlink reseller, announces on Tuesday the launch of Paratus EduLINK, a revolutionary connectivity solution that will enable schools in remote and underserved areas to have access to fast, dependable internet.
Paratus EduLINK uses Starlink’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technology with its campaign slogan, “Empowering Education, Anywhere,” to make sure that no learner is left behind and that no school is too far away.
Schools in Botswana, Kenya, Rwanda, Zambia, others to benefit
In order to facilitate smooth online learning and access to digital resources, the EduLINK package provides high-speed internet to eligible schools in Botswana, Eswatini, Kenya, Mozambique, Malawi, Rwanda, and Zambia. Each month, the package offers 2TB of Priority Data, followed by a substantial data buffer.
The only schools that can use Paratus EduLINK are those that have an approved education certificate.
The Standard Starlink Kit, which is offered for sale separately, is expertly installed and supported by Paratus’ localised support, in-country payment options, in-country expertise, and continuous customer care.
Paratus’s seven years involvement in the education sector
Through its long-standing collaboration with Eduvision in Namibia, Paratus has been involved in the education sector for nearly seven years.
Over 12,000 students and 471 teachers nationwide now have access to real-time, interactive digital learning thanks to Paratus’s provision of GEO satellite infrastructure and technical assistance.
Significant improvements in learner engagement, comprehension, and academic performance have been observed over time, indicating the transformative power of consistent digital access in education.
“Paratus EduLINK is not just about connectivity; it’s about creating equal access to education,” says Barney Harmse, Executive Chairman of Paratus Group. “We’re proud to bridge the digital divide for thousands of learners who deserve the same opportunities as anyone else, no matter how remote their location.”
Even in places without conventional infrastructure, Starlink’s sophisticated constellation of satellites provides high bandwidth, low latency, and resilience, enabling true broadband performance.
By enabling digital assessments, teacher training, online learning, and cooperative projects, Paratus EduLINK helps schools promote inclusive education.
