Leading South African networking distributor Duxbury Networking announced on Monday the introduction of four expert technical service offerings meant to assist South African companies in more accurately and confidently designing, validating, and monitoring their wireless networks.

The services are provided and supported by Duxbury’s nationwide technical team and include an AP on a Stick Wireless Survey, Passive Wireless Survey, Predictive Wireless Survey, and a User Experience Monitoring Service.

The introduction of these services fits into the company’s larger plan to offer value-added services that make wireless deployments simpler, less prone to failure, and more successful in the long run.

“We have reached a point where connectivity is mission critical. Unfortunately, too many networks in South Africa are built without validation, monitoring, or proper planning. Our new professional services give businesses and system integrators the tools to build wireless environments that work from day one,” says André Kannemeyer, Chief Technology Officer at Duxbury Networking.

Duxbury addresses common network issues

Unreliable Wi-Fi is a prevalent issue in various settings, including office parks, hospitals, warehouses, and universities.  Poor device placement, interference from nearby signals, and environments with complex materials (metal, concrete, glass) are the main causes of many problems.  These errors frequently lead to erratic coverage, slow speeds, and signal drop-offs.

With four focused solutions, Duxbury’s new service portfolio aims to eradicate those guesswork issues.

Duxbury’s technical service offerings explained

AP on a Stick Wireless Survey: Prior to final installation, this practical validation service uses portable test equipment to evaluate access point performance on-site.  Businesses can minimise hardware overspend and rework by identifying coverage gaps, roaming issues, and interference risks early on by simulating Wi-Fi conditions at precise mounting heights and positions.

Passive Wireless Survey: This walkthrough-based survey maps real-time Wi-Fi performance and pinpoints the main reasons why users complain, making it perfect for troubleshooting existing networks.  It offers a comprehensive optimisation roadmap to enhance wireless stability and user satisfaction, from identifying signal-to-noise problems to incorrectly positioned access points.

Predictive Wireless Survey: This service offers software-based, 3D-modelled Wi-Fi designs that are customised to meet business requirements for new constructions or expansions.  To guarantee future-ready performance and economical deployment right from the beginning, it assists in planning AP placement based on building materials, user density, and application demands.

User Experience Monitoring: This service continuously tests application performance and LAN and Wi-Fi network services by simulating actual user behaviour.  It is perfect for hybrid workforces and business-critical environments because it offers real-time insight into the end-user experience and assists in identifying issues before they have an impact on users.

What Duxbury’s technical services entail

Technical services offered by Duxbury include comprehensive reporting, site inspections, pre- and post-project consultations, and simple collaboration tools that give clients the knowledge they need to understand exactly what is working and what needs to be improved.

Customers and partners of Duxbury now have access to all four services across the country.  Duxbury’s in-house engineering team provides the services, which are supported by vendor-certified expertise and decades of local deployment experience.

“These services are essential steps in modern network lifecycle management. When businesses invest in professional surveys and UX monitoring, they avoid the most expensive problem of all: getting it wrong,” the company emphasised.

Lean IT teams, contractors, and service integrators who want to improve their offerings without taking on needless risk will find the services particularly beneficial.
