Egypt’s Tactful AI reacquired by founders to expand into Middle East, Europe

Tactful AI, the Egypt-born startup specialising in AI-driven customer experience (CX) solutions, is again under the control of its founders, Mohamed El-Masry and Mohammed Hassan.

This move was officially announced on July 16 marking a pivotal point for the company as it aims to accelerate growth and expand into new regions.

Founders regain control to drive regional expansion

Tactful AI, which was founded in 2016, offers a single platform that enables companies to manage, interact with, and analyse customer journeys across voice and digital channels.

Within months of deployment, this platform considerably increases digital revenues by 15–35 percent.

The startup was acquired by Belgian telecom group Dstny in 2022 during the latter’s push into AI-powered CX tools.

However, following a strategic realignment, El-Masry and Hassan reacquired Tactful AI to steer the company independently, emphasising expansion into the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and extending into the UK and Western Europe.

Mohamed El-Masry stated, “We’re proud to lead from Egypt and prove that globally competitive AI technology can be built in the region… We have a bold vision for the next phase – to double down on innovation, expand into new markets, and support organisations as they modernise their customer engagement strategies”.

This renewed autonomy positions Tactful AI to innovate aggressively and capture new markets with greater agility.

Founders reclaim Tactful AI to drive global expansion

The reacquisition signals confidence in local tech leadership and reflects growing demand for AI-powered customer engagement platforms in emerging and mature markets.

As the company reclaims its independence, it aims to leverage its proven technology and regional insights to bolster its presence in these targeted geographies.

The founders’ return offers fresh momentum to an already proven solution, promising a dynamic phase of growth and innovation.

El-Masry and Hassan’s decision to reacquire Tactful AI highlights their commitment to scaling the startup globally while keeping core development rooted in Egypt, contributing to the region’s broader ecosystem of AI innovation.

This transition also underscores the ongoing evolution in AI for customer experience, where localised expertise coupled with cutting-edge technology drives competitive advantage across diverse industries and markets.
