The largest and most prestigious national award, the 2025 Euromoney Awards for Excellence, has named Zenith Bank Plc Nigeria’s Best Bank.

The bank claims that Thursday’s honour in London is evidence of its dedication to providing outstanding banking services, cutting-edge products, and outstanding value to its clients and investors.

Most sought-after awards 

The Euromoney Awards for Excellence are among the most sought-after honours for significant banks and bankers.

World-class financial institutions such as HSBC, Morgan Stanley, Citibank, Barclays, Standard Bank, and Development Bank of Singapore, among others, entered a record 770 entries for this year’s edition of the Awards for Excellence, which honours financial institutions that exhibit leadership, innovation, and resilience in their markets.

Zenith Bank dedicates Euromoney’s Awards to founder and customers

She continued by dedicating the award to Jim Ovia, the founder and chairman of Zenith Bank, for his visionary leadership and dedication to excellence, which laid the groundwork for the bank’s successes, and to Zenith Bank’s global clientele for their steadfast support.

She also expressed gratitude to the Board for its leadership and the employees for their unwavering commitment to creating a strong, world-class financial institution that will endure for many generations.

Zenith Bank’s previous awards

For the sixteenth year in a row, Tier-1 Capital named Zenith Bank the top bank in Nigeria in The Banker’s 2025 Top 1000 World Banks Ranking.

The Banker’s Bank of the Year Awards for 2020, 2022, and 2024 named it the Bank of the Year (Nigeria); the Global Finance World’s Best Banks Awards named it the Best Bank in Nigeria from 2020 to 2022 and 2024 to 2025; the Euromoney Awards named it the Best Bank for Digital Solutions in Nigeria; and in 2023, the bank was included in the World Finance Top 100 Global Companies.
