The High-Tech Centre for Nigerian Women and Youth has announced the commencement of its regional ICT/STEM Academy training camps, with the Lagos State edition dedicated to participants from the South-West geopolitical zone.

The training camp, which will take place at the Digital Bridge Institute, Oshodi – Lagos Trends, is open to residents of Ondo, Ekiti, Oyo, Osun, and Ogun States, as well as Lagos. It is designed to provide practical, hands-on skills in information and communication technology, digital literacy, renewable energy, cybersecurity, and entrepreneurship.

Inclusive training across all age groups and demographics

The programme is open to teens, youth, young adults, men, women, and seniors, making it one of the few large-scale technology capacity-building initiatives in Nigeria that cuts across age and gender lines.

Participants can register as campers or non-campers, with camper registration costing ₦95,000. This includes 6 nights of lodging and 7 days of feeding. Non-campers will pay ₦35,000 for access to the programme without accommodation or feeding.

Affordable course offerings and subsidised packages

In addition to registration, all participants are expected to choose and pay for one or more specialised training workshops. The cost structure is as follows:

  • ICT courses – ₦60,000
  • Renewable energy – ₦75,000
  • Entrepreneurship – ₦55,000

For participants looking to gain broader knowledge, a comprehensive package is also available. For ₦185,000, individuals can access five courses (including digital literacy and cybersecurity), as well as camping costs. The organisers describe this as a highly reduced and subsidised rate aimed at ensuring more people can benefit from the initiative.

More zones to follow

While the Lagos training caters to South-West states, the High-Tech Centre has confirmed that camps will also be held in other regions, with venues in:

  • Kano for the North-West
  • Taraba for the North-East
  • Abuja for the North-Central
  • Imo/Enugu for the South-East
  • Akwa Ibom/Delta for the South-South

The initiative forms part of the Centre’s broader mission to bridge the digital divide and increase access to innovation-driven education across the country.

Registration details and partnership opportunities

Interested participants are encouraged to register through the official portal. For partnerships, sponsorships, or further enquiries, contact the organisers via 08034241874 or 09062346512.
