NBA Africa has relaunched its Triple-Double Accelerator, aiming to set new standards for African sports-tech startups.
Announced on Monday, this second edition demonstrates the organization’s strong commitment to advancing the continent’s most innovative entrepreneurs on the global stage.
NBA Africa Triple-Double Accelerator: Empowering African innovation
Ready to disrupt the sports and creative industries? NBA Africa’s Triple-Double Accelerator is now open for applications.
It will give early-stage African startups access to a game-changing 10-week mentorship and development journey before the August 29 deadline.
NBA Africa has teamed up with ALX Ventures and new official partner ServiceNow, an enterprise AI leader, to supercharge the next crop of tech ventures.
CEO Clare Akamanzi declared, “Last year’s inaugural Triple-Double Accelerator program showed how much talent, passion, and creativity there is among African entrepreneurs who are shaping the future of the continent’s rapidly growing sport and entertainment industries.”
Participants will benefit from tailored support in areas like product development, business growth, and launch strategy, culminating in a Demo Day this December.
Supporting sports-tech startups: mentorship, funding, and global exposure
This is a real opportunity if your startup develops solutions in event management, digital marketing, youth development, or AI for sports.
The accelerator will select 10 finalists from across Africa. These companies will receive hands-on mentorship from NBA Africa, ALX, ServiceNow, and leading industry figures.
Winners will score not just financial backing but also global exposure, with Demo Day pitches taking place before international industry leaders.
The four prize-winning companies from the previous cohort, including Festival Coins and Salubata, walked away with cash prizes, invaluable mentorship, and access to NBA Africa’s world-class development programs.
“We look forward to reviewing this year’s submissions and to helping another round of promising startups take the next step in their development,” said Akamanzi.
