A one-day intense digital transformation event in Abuja trained 438 civil personnel in a daring bid to boost Nigeria’s digital skills. The Nigerian government and KOICA are partnering to teach government personnel digital skills to improve public service delivery.
The initiative, part of KOICA’s e-Government Capacity Building Project, shows Nigeria’s dedication to digital civil service modernisation.
Koica partnership boosts digital skills for Nigerian civil servants
The training, delivered by experts from KOICA and the Korea Institute for Development Strategy (KDS), focused on enabling digital transformation within government operations.
The initiative was conducted under the banner of “Enabling Digital Transformation in Nigerian GovTech,” emphasising leadership enhancement and fostering a digitally savvy workforce.
The seminar taught civil officials how to use digital tools to improve government transparency, speed, and accountability. International collaboration improves Nigeria’s government efficiency through new technology.
DevsInGovernment initiative strengthens Nigeria’s digital economy
The training session was also incorporated into the monthly DevsInGovernment program, a Nigerian initiative established to enhance the digital economy by strengthening the ICT capabilities of the government.
Bosun Tijani, a central figure in the program, expressed confidence in the potential of civil servant training to contribute to Nigeria’s overall digital development.
“Strengthening our workforce with digital skills is essential in today’s economy,” Tijani said.
This program builds technical skills and supports leadership in digital governance, helping Nigeria navigate the complexities of digital transformation with confidence and expertise.
Through this extensive training regimen, Nigeria’s public servants are actively prepared to implement digital services that satisfy the needs of contemporary society.
The collaboration fortifies the country’s foundation with KOICA, which uses digital tools and strategies to facilitate more innovative, efficient, and inclusive governance.
The program represents a significant step in modernising Nigerian government processes by fusing local leadership with global experience to propel digital advancement.
