Google announced the release of the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL, its tenth-generation smartphones, calling them the most useful and customised Pixels to date.

The devices run on the most recent Gemini Nano AI model and are powered by the new Google Tensor G5 chip, which the company claims will allow for more intelligent on-device AI experiences.

Google claims that the phones have a new design with an improved camera bar, PixelSnap-branded built-in Qi2 wireless charging, and support for new magnetic accessories.

Additionally, the company highlighted sustainability, pointing out that the models use the most recycled materials of any Pixel device to date.

Specifications of Google’s Pixel 10 smartphones

The Pixel 10 has a 6.3-inch Actua display with a brightness of up to 3000 nits, a polished glass back, and a satin-finished metal frame.

According to Google, the device offers up to 20x zoom with Super Res Zoom and features a 5x telephoto lens, the first addition to the regular Pixel line. It also features audio enhancements.

Google emphasised the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL’s improved triple-camera setup, brighter Super Actua screens, and larger, quicker-charging batteries. The Pro models also introduce Pro Res Zoom, which uses Tensor G5’s generative AI to provide up to 100x zoom. The phones will come in various colours, including jade, moonstone, porcelain, and obsidian.

According to Stephanie Scott, product manager at Google, the new Tensor G5 chip, which offers faster performance and unlocks features like Magic Cue, is the biggest upgrade since Tensor’s launch.

The AI tool integrates with various apps, including Google Messages and Phone, to proactively surface pertinent information, like flight details, during an airline call.

Prices of Google’s Pixel 10 smartphones

The Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL preorders went live immediately, starting at prices of $799, $999, and $1,199, respectively. On August 28, the devices were sold at the Google Store and retail partners. Customers who purchased a Pixel 10 Pro were given a free year of Google AI Pro.

Google also revealed that the Pro Res Zoom model is the biggest AI imaging system ever created for Pixel cameras, and Camera Coach, which iGemini models power, will instruct users on framing and composition techniques.
