According to a joint press release released Monday, Cash Plus and PayPal introduced the first digital withdrawal service in Morocco.
The new partnership enables Moroccan PayPal users to instantly withdraw their balances in Moroccan dirhams through the Cash Plus Mobile app.
The service eliminates intermediaries, paperwork, and branch visits. As the sole Moroccan provider of digital PayPal withdrawals, Cash Plus has developed a fully digital solution for the nation’s e-commerce sellers, freelancers, entrepreneurs, and creators.
“At PayPal, we believe financial services should be digital first, accessible, inclusive, and designed for how people live and work today,” said Otto Williams, Senior Vice President, Regional Head and General Manager for Middle East and Africa at PayPal.
According to Williams, the partnership gives Moroccans “an all-in-one wallet experience that makes withdrawing PayPal earnings faster, simpler, and entirely branch-free,” thereby realising this vision.
Morocco’s endeavours to support its expanding digital economy
This coincides with Morocco’s endeavours to support its expanding digital economy, which currently boasts more than 18 million internet users. By 2030, the nation’s digital payments market is anticipated to have grown from $14.29 billion in 2025 to over $35 billion.
This partnership also supports Morocco’s National Financial Inclusion Strategy, which seeks to enrol 75 per cent of adults in the formal financial system by 2030. The new service, which allows instant access to worldwide earnings without needing a foreign bank account, fills a significant gap for Morocco’s digital workforce.
Significant milestone
According to Nabil Amar, the Cash Plus Group president, the collaboration is “a key milestone in our mission to democratize access to global financial services. ”
“By enabling instant, secure withdrawals in MAD, we’re empowering Morocco’s digital generation with the autonomy, speed, and simplicity they expect – all within a single app,” Amar stated.
This partnership is part of PayPal’s larger plan to grow in the Middle East and Africa by forming local partnerships that link more people to the global digital economy.
Cash Plus offers various financial and non-financial services and is a payment institution licensed by Bank Al Maghrib. For over 25 years, PayPal has been a global player, developing payment solutions in about 200 markets worldwide.
