Uber has introduced “Uber Safari,” an innovative app-based service allowing tourists and locals in Nairobi to book guided game drives to Nairobi National Park with the ease of hailing a regular Uber ride.

This move makes exploring the park’s rich wildlife accessible through a familiar platform, bringing the savannah closer than ever.

Uber Safari simplifies wildlife adventures

Nairobi stands out as one of the rare capitals globally with a full national park within its city limits. Uber seized this unique situation to create a service integrating wildlife safaris into its app ecosystem.

Imran Manji, Uber’s Head of East Africa, said, “This is not just another Uber trip. Nairobi is one of the few cities in the world with a full national park at its doorstep. That makes it special, and we wanted to create something that celebrates this uniqueness”.

Riders may plan pick-up and drop-off from any city location, experience game drives with trained guides, and see lions, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes, and giraffes in their natural habitat using Uber Safari.

Affordable packages for day and night experiences

Two booking options are currently available via Uber Safari: a daytime game drive for KSh 25,000 (around ₹17,000) accommodating up to seven passengers, and a nighttime safari priced at KSh 40,000 (around ₹27,000), with space for five guests. Booking deadlines are set at two days for day tours and five days ahead for night tours, with payment handled seamlessly on the Uber app.

However, entrance fees to Nairobi National Park remain payable separately through the Kenya Wildlife Service. Families and groups may enjoy the park’s unique environment without the stress of safaris with this exciting new option.

Uber Safari has already contributed to an increase in park visitors, with Nairobi National Park seeing a 24% rise in tourists during the first half of 2025 compared to last year.

The initiative is supported by Kenya’s Ministry of Tourism, Kenya Wildlife Service, and trusted partners. It promises safe and memorable wildlife encounters accessible at users’ fingertips.
