Xiaomi has unveiled two impressive tablets, the Xiaomi Pad Mini and the Redmi Pad 2 Pro, marking a strong global entry.

The Pad Mini packs a flagship-grade processor and a jaw-dropping 8.8-inch 3K display with a 165Hz refresh rate, while the Redmi Pad 2 Pro offers a larger 12.1-inch 2.5K screen paired with a hefty 12000mAh battery. Both models blend power and portability, targeting different user needs with distinct sizes and features.

Flagship performance in a compact frame

The Xiaomi Pad Mini stands out with its 8.8-inch screen that provides crystal-clear visuals at 3008 × 1880 pixels and an ultra-smooth experience thanks to the 165Hz refresh rate.

Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset developed using cutting-edge 3nm technology, this mini tablet delivers flagship performance, something rare in this size class.

Xiaomi’s HyperOS and AI-powered HyperAI technologies increase mobile productivity with efficiency and innovative features. With 67W quick charging, the 7500mAh battery lasts long without charging breaks. As Xiaomi claims, “Its symmetrical internal layout enables near-perfect weight distribution, making it feel lighter and more balanced in hand”.

Expansive display and powerhouse battery in Redmi Pad 2 Pro

In contrast, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro features a 12.1-inch LCD screen with a 2560 × 1600 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

The display supports Dolby Vision and DC dimming with TÜV Rheinland certification for low blue light, providing comfortable viewing during extended sessions.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset powers the Pad 2 Pro, backed by up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage, expandable up to 2TB. The massive 12000mAh battery, 33W fast charging, and 27W wired reverse charging make this tablet a portable power bank.

Redmi’s tablet has a larger screen designed for binge-watching and gaming.

Both tablets launched globally in September 2025, targeting customer preferences like Tablet Mini’s compactness and elegance and Pad 2 Pro’s immersive experiences. Xiaomi’s approach competes directly with premium features across sizes and pricing points.
