Tech Revolution Africa 2.0 organisers, the continent’s premier innovation gathering, announced that MTN has extended its partnership with the organisation as its headline sponsor.
MTN’s renewed partnership demonstrates its dedication to fostering innovation, developing young talent, and influencing Africa’s digital future.
MTN was also the main sponsor of the first Tech Revolution Africa in 2024, where its assistance produced a robust platform that stimulated important debates, encouraged teamwork, and established beneficial ties throughout Africa’s tech sector.
The Landmark Event Centre on Victoria Island in Lagos is the venue for the Big Bold Step, which is set for January 30–31, 2026.
MTN Chief Information Officer speaks on the partnership
Regarding the sponsorship, Shoyinka Shodunke, the Chief Information Officer at MTN Nigeria, stated that the project reflects Africa’s increasing self-assurance and leadership in the global technology arena.
“I am truly inspired by the vision of Tech Revolution Africa 2.0. This is more than innovation; it is Africa’s bold declaration that we are not just participants in the global tech space but leaders shaping its future.
“From Lagos to Kigali and Nairobi to Cape Town, our collective creativity and resilience are rewriting the rules. The world is indeed watching, and I have no doubt Africa will rise to the occasion,” Shodunke said.
Prospects for the 2026 edition
The 2026 edition, according to David Ogebe, co-founder of Tech Revolution Africa, will be “bigger, bolder, and more transformative.” It will also bring together young talent, investors, policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators from all over the continent.
“Next year’s edition is set to be bigger, bolder, and more transformative, bringing together industry leaders and innovators from Africa and beyond, policymakers and regulators shaping Africa’s digital future, and investors, founders, and young talent building the next wave of startups,” Ogebe said.
