FroggyTalk will expand its services beyond inexpensive calls to include more comprehensive migrant integration assistance, according to the fundraising round spearheaded by the Belgium-based SI3 Fund of Shaping Impact Group.
Connecting African migrants with home
FroggyTalk was founded in The Hague in 2023 with the initial goal of facilitating inexpensive, simple international communication for African migrants across Europe. In addition to providing affordable, high-quality international calls, it also has a Radio Hub that aggregates African FM stations so users can enjoy local music, news, and entertainment.

Over 3.6 million listening minutes have been recorded on the Radio Hub alone, demonstrating the strong emotional connection users have with the platform.

Expanding to Integration services
With the new funding, FroggyTalk plans to move beyond voice calls and entertainment by introducing integration services key to migrant well-being. These include financial inclusion, legal aid, documentation assistance, and mental health support, areas where African migrants frequently encounter obstacles because of language or administrative issues.
According to Dave Dirks, Partner at SI3, “FroggyTalk’s mission aligns with our vision of reducing inequalities by tackling persistent barriers to well-being for African communities in Europe.”
Strategic growth through partnerships
FroggyTalk’s growth has been supported by participation in the We Are Changemakers incubator and by partnerships with organisations such as the Dutch New Narrative Lab.
These relationships have provided access to ecosystems, mentorship, and amplification of impact work. To better serve its community, further investments will improve the platform’s infrastructure and expand its artificial intelligence applications.
This €300,000 seed funding is a significant step toward transforming FroggyTalk from a communication tool into a holistic platform for African migrants to thrive in Europe.
