Starting in Kenya, the rollout announced on Tuesday will eventually expand to several other Airtel Africa markets in the upcoming year.
A digital transformation program aimed at redefining how Airtel Money provides financial services to its 49.8 million customers has commenced with this strategic deployment, marking the first of its kind on the continent.
What the cloud-native deployment offers
In addition to unlocking a wider range of fintech services and establishing Airtel Money as a comprehensive digital financial ecosystem, the new platform improves operational efficiency and scalability.
It facilitates quick partner onboarding, shorter innovation cycles, and the development of new revenue streams throughout Airtel Money’s pan-African network, thanks to its more than 50 sophisticated features and over 120 open APIs.
The platform, based on a security-first architecture, includes sophisticated security features such as multi-factor authentication and federated identity, ensuring the trust, resilience, and regulatory compliance of millions of users. Improved user interfaces, self-service features, and more seamless international money transfers will all be made possible by it.
