The Africa Fintech Forum, a cross-industry, non-profit organization, gathers fintech players with the aim of promoting digital finance with public officials and policymakers, placing the fintech industry at the center of Africa’s development and disseminating the keys to understanding the fintech industry and aiding its growth through studies and research.

The establishment and support of innovation hubs in Africa, the creation of business opportunities for ecosystem participants, and the construction of bridges to facilitate cooperation among ecosystem participants from Africa and other nations are also included. These projects aim to test and speed up the use of new financial technologies on the continent.

More than 600 people are expected to attend the Next Fintech Forum in Abidjan, the commercial capital of Côte d’Ivoire, which is the most important financial technology meeting in Francophone Africa. The event will take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel on November 22 and 23. According to organisers, market intelligence information will be available from 15 nations in the 2022 edition.

An assistant to Côte d’Ivoire’s prime minister, named Modibo Samaké, said that the country has become “a privileged meeting point” for the world’s top fintech players.

According to him, “With growth of 8% over the last 10 years, the nation is in great economic health, which opens the Ivorian economy up to the rest of the globe.” Despite the fact that its growth has declined by 2% because of the COVID-19 epidemic, it has ultimately risen to 6% as of 2021.

The event will also assist high-potential entrepreneurs in better marketing themselves, finding financing, and creating ties with other players in the ecosystem. This is in light of the fact that regulators will also be gathering for the purpose of better understanding the most recent advances in business and technology influencing the fintech industry.

Mauritanian Minister of Digital Transformation, Innovation, and Modernization Abdel Aziz Dahi said, “The Next Fintech Forum is now positioned as a major player in the digital finance ecosystem.”

According to him, “more than forty percent of fintechs are engaged in payment and transfer of money, and other services are developing and will grow sustainably over the next few years, such as insurance, loans, and financing.”

The Next Fintech Forum, formerly the Africa Fintech Forum, is respected throughout French-speaking Africa. Last year’s event had 600 in-person and 500 virtual guests. Over 50 sponsors, 40 exhibitors, and 30 speakers attended.

At the show will be regulators from the Central Bank of West African States, the Central Bank of Guinea, the Central Bank of Mauritania, the Stock Exchange Authority of Ghana, and the Kigali International Finance Centre. The Africa Fintech Network, Fintech Association of Nigeria, Rwanda Fintech Association, Ghana Fintech and Payment Association, and Cote d’Ivoire Fintech Association will all be represented.
