This expansion represents a significant step forward from its initial launch in August 2025, which was limited to the United States, Canada, and India.
Remarkably, the tool accommodates over 60 languages, empowering travellers worldwide to find affordable flights through conversational queries rather than conventional filters.
For instance, users may input requests such as “week-long trip this winter to a city renowned for excellent cuisine, nonstop only” and obtain personalised flight offers aligned with their preferences and financial considerations.
AI flight deals tool simplifies travel booking
The Flight Deals feature uses a specialized AI model based on Google’s Gemini technology to sift through millions of flight options and highlight the best bargains.
Instead of searching by fixed parameters, travelers interact with the tool conversationally, making it easier to find cost-effective routes that fit their travel style and schedule.
Julie Farago, Vice President of Engineering for Search, emphasized that the AI-driven experience “takes the guesswork out of finding affordable flights and makes planning trips more intuitive.” This tool is embedded directly in Google Flights, combining Google’s extensive flight data with AI’s ability to quickly and accurately understand complex user requests.
New travel planning features enhance user experience
Alongside Flight Deals, Google introduced enhancements in its AI Mode within Search, notably the addition of Canvas for travel planning. Originally designed for organizing study plans, Canvas now allows users to create structured itineraries and manage travel details across multiple sessions through a side-panel interface accessible in AI Mode.
Furthermore, agent-based booking functionality has been augmented, allowing users to effortlessly reserve flights and secure restaurant reservations, event tickets, and local appointments via the Google ecosystem.
These enhancements are designed to optimise the entire travel booking process, thereby making planning and reservation processes more integrated and effective for a global user base.
Google’s global rollout of Flight Deals and these new tools push the limits of how AI can transform travel searches, delivering personalized, natural-language-driven recommendations that meet the needs of today’s diverse global travelers.
