Organisers say top participants could secure sponsorship opportunities to attend the June edition of AfriExCon in Egypt and the Africa HealthTech Summit scheduled for September in Rwanda.

The programme is led by the Africa Health ExCon, a platform that promotes healthcare innovation, partnerships, and investment across the continent. Applications are currently open through the official accelerator portal.

Startups Target Investor Networks

The accelerator arrives at a time when African health startups are seeking stronger investor engagement and broader market access. Many early-stage founders continue to face barriers linked to funding, regulation, and cross-border expansion.

Organisers say the programme will connect founders with healthcare stakeholders, venture capital networks, and industry experts through mentorship sessions, pitch opportunities, and ecosystem exposure.

Health technology startups working in telemedicine, diagnostics, digital health records, artificial intelligence, pharmaceutical access, and public health systems are expected to benefit from the initiative.

According to information published on Africa Health ExCon’s official website, the broader platform focuses on accelerating healthcare transformation in Africa by linking innovators with governments, investors, and healthcare institutions.

Continental Events Offer Exposure

One of the strongest attractions of the accelerator is access to two high-profile health innovation gatherings in Africa.

AfriExCon, hosted in Egypt, has emerged as a meeting point for healthcare companies, investors, government agencies, and medical professionals from across Africa and beyond. The Africa HealthTech Summit in Rwanda also attracts startups, innovation hubs, and global health partners seeking scalable healthcare solutions.

Participation in both events could help startups attract partnerships, pilot opportunities, and funding discussions beyond their local markets.

Organisers believe African founders need more continental platforms that enable ideas to move from prototypes to commercially viable healthcare products.

Deadline Approaches for Applicants

Applications remain open until June 14, with organisers urging startups across Africa to submit early. The accelerator is open to healthcare-focused ventures seeking growth opportunities and regional exposure.

Interested startups can access details and complete applications through the accelerator application page.

With digital health investment gaining momentum across Africa, the accelerator could offer emerging founders a route into larger investor conversations and regional healthcare networks.
