The initiative seeks to support developers, researchers, and entrepreneurs building advanced AI applications on the Autonomys Network. Through a mix of funding, mentorship, technical support, and ecosystem access, the programme aims to strengthen the emerging field of decentralised artificial intelligence, often referred to as deAI.

Funding Push for Decentralised AI

The Subspace Foundation confirmed that up to 10 per cent of the total $AI3 token supply has been reserved for ecosystem development. The funding will back projects focused on intelligent decentralised applications, blockchain infrastructure, privacy technologies, and interoperability tools.

According to the foundation, the programme aims to encourage the development of AI systems that operate through distributed networks rather than centralised platforms. Organisers believe this approach could improve transparency, resilience, and user control in future AI ecosystems.

The grants programme will support a wide range of projects, including AI-powered decentralised applications, distributed storage systems, blockchain scaling tools, and privacy-focused technologies.

Five Grant Categories Announced

The initiative is divided into five funding streams to address different areas of development across the AI and blockchain sectors.

Infrastructure grants will support improvements in distributed storage, modular blockchain systems, and computing resources for AI workloads. AI-powered dApp grants will target applications across industries such as finance, healthcare, and logistics.

Research grants will back academic and technical studies focused on decentralised AI, governance frameworks, and new consensus systems. Community grants will fund educational initiatives, workshops, developer bootcamps, and open source tools aimed at expanding participation in the ecosystem.

Integration grants will focus on interoperability projects, including blockchain bridges, software development kits, and developer onboarding tools.

Beyond Financial Support

The Subspace Foundation says the programme offers more than direct funding. Successful applicants will also gain access to technical documentation, APIs, mentoring opportunities, and operational guidance throughout project development.

Participants will join a global network of blockchain developers, AI researchers, and Web3 innovators. The foundation also plans to showcase selected projects through community events, blogs, and ecosystem platforms.

Eligible applicants include AI developers, blockchain engineers, machine learning researchers, data scientists, DeFi platforms, and teams building AI-integrated decentralised applications.

Structured Application Process

Applications will move through several stages, beginning with proposal preparation and submission through the official portal. Shortlisted applicants will then enter a discovery phase in which the project scope and milestones will be refined before final funding approval.

Funding will be released based on milestone completion, with successful projects expected to share outcomes and progress with the wider community.

As interest in AI and blockchain grows, the Subspace Foundation’s new initiative offers innovators a chance to build secure, scalable, decentralised AI for the next generation of the internet.
