Before she started working for Wakanow, she was the first female and the first Nigerian to be appointed general manager of sales for Lufthansa Group in Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea. In that role, she was responsible for leading the teams in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Malabo, as well as driving all commercial and sales activities for Lufthansa Group in the region. Prior to that, she was the first Nigerian to hold that position.

She is a transformational leader with many years of expertise in the travel sector, and she has been leading commercial interests for Wakanow since July 2021 in her capacity as chief commercial officer.

About Wakanow

Wakanow, which has been dubbed “the face of travel tech in Africa,” is an exclusive group of people with varied backgrounds in fields such as e-commerce, airline management, and banking who are driving a revolution in the travel business.

This revolution is being driven by an upheaval that is currently taking place. They have a sense of adventure and bravado when they look for new ways to help customers.

It is a revolution that is engineering the transfer of travel in Africa from the conventional offline model of purchase to a democratized, transnational online solution that leverages technology. This transition is being engineered by a company called Travelstart. The members of the Wakanow.com crew are as described above.

Wakanow is the company that is shaping the future of the travel industry by unlocking new locations, making travel easier, opening up new doors, and providing better travel services that are made possible by FinTech.

The revolution is creating new opportunities that will change how customers buy travel and how they work with travel agencies and the whole travel industry value chain in the future.

These developments are being driven by the revolution. By compiling the most extensive travel inventory, the brand has emerged as a driving force behind fundamental industry shifts in areas such as purchasing plane tickets, reserving hotel rooms, and organizing transportation. These technological advancements gave rise to a financial technology business named Kalabash (Pay Small Small).

Partnerships Wakanow Got into in 2022

In 2022, Wakanow made a deal with Akwaaba African Travel Market to work together on the growth of tourism. This took place in the midst of Wakanow’s full participation in the 18th edition of the fair, which is the largest travel expo in West Africa.

The Tropical Christmas Wonderland is an annual event that is put on by Wakanow and Eko Hotels and Suites. The 2022 Prideland version of the event was held there.

In 2022, United Nigeria Airlines, also known as UNA, made a deal with Wakanow so that it could give its customers real-time inventory and flight schedules. This would give its customers more value.

Wakanow is extremely happy to be the most successful travel agency in West Africa, and it is working hard to bring its innovative and dogged spirit to other parts of Africa and beyond.
