Inclusive Financial Ecosystem for Youth

Through innovative programs and strategic partnerships, including collaborations with organizations like the Mastercard Foundation, Absa Bank is actively contributing to an inclusive financial ecosystem. The bank has supported and upskilled hundreds of Micro, Small, and Medium-scale Enterprise businesses under the Mastercard Foundation Young African Works (YAWs) program.

As part of the program, Absa Bank has organized capacity-building Small and Medium-scale Enterprises clinics across the country, reaching nearly 250 small businesses this year. The bank has also provided financial support to accelerate their business growth, reinforcing its commitment to youth entrepreneurship.

Investing in STEM Education and Future-Fit Skills

Recognizing the critical importance of improving Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education, Absa Bank has initiated several programs to nurture talents for a brighter tomorrow. Collaborating with the IPMC, an educational technology institution, the bank has provided practical Amazon Web Service cloud computing skills and other soft skills to hundreds of students.

The bank has supported the promotion of the National Science and Maths Quiz for the last three years, emphasizing its belief in the gains that STEM education can deliver to the development of the country. Acknowledging the evolving needs of the job market, Absa Bank’s Ready-to-Work program is designed to equip young people with the necessary skills to transition smoothly from the lecture room to the world of work.

Absa Bank’s multifaceted approach underscores its commitment to supporting youth empowerment across various sectors, fostering a holistic environment for the development and success of the next generation of leaders.
