Access Bank Kenya and the National Bank of Kenya have integrated seamless service to facilitate client banking.
Customers of both banks can now access specific core in-branch services throughout the network of combined branches, which is a significant step in their continuous integration process.
Access Bank and NBK’s customers to enjoy combined banking services
This partnership allowed tellers at both banks to handle basic operations like viewing account information, making cash deposits and withdrawals, and transferring funds.
Customers can walk into any of the more than 100 branches across the country and experience the same convenience whether they bank with Access Bank or NBK.
Access Bank Kenya County Managing Director Ralph Opara said the strategic choice aligns with the bank’s goal of making banking easier for all clients.
“I’m pleased with our strides to get where we are today. By opening our networks to each other’s customers, we are ensuring that banking is simpler, faster, and more accessible,” said Opara.
He added: “This move also reflects our ambition to continue to deliver greater choice, improved digital services, and stronger financial solutions to our customers.”
Assurance of safe services
The two banks emphasised that deposits are safe and that clients’ current accounts, cards, chequebooks, and online platforms are still valid.
The integration is expected to open up additional opportunities, as retail and SME clients are anticipated to have greater access and more robust digital channels.
Access Bank’s global hubs in the UK, Dubai, China, Malta, France, India, Lebanon, and Hong Kong will also benefit corporate and multinational enterprises. These hubs are essential for treasury management and cross-border trade finance.
NBK’s payments experience meets Access Bank’s digital prowess
Public sector clients will continue to rely on NBK’s experience in collections and disbursements and Access Bank’s digital prowess.
George Odhiambo, managing director of NBK, emphasised the partnership’s customer-first philosophy and claimed that the banking partnership would provide its clients with genuine value.
“Together, we are building an institution that will deliver more value to customers, empower communities, and play a catalytic role in Kenya’s economic growth agenda,” stated Odhiambo.
The recently introduced financial service from NBK and Access Bank promises greater support for Kenya’s financial inclusion objectives, a broader reach, and fewer transaction barriers.
