Africa Data Centres is teaming up with the Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN) in a deal that will see better connectivity and lower bandwidth costs for Nigerians.
The Cassava Technologies group, which includes the largest network of connected, carrier- and cloud-neutral data centre facilities in Africa, has taken a big step forward in its large-scale expansion into Africa. This has seen recent builds in South Africa and Ghana, with plans to build data centres in ten of Africa’s largest economic capitals.
IXPN is the biggest internet exchange provider in Nigeria. It lets local content and service providers connect directly to trade local internet traffic instead of sending their data long distances. IXPN is making it faster for end users to access online resources by moving the content closer to the customer. This has a big effect on how well businesses work.
