The Africa Digital Media Institute (ADMI) has recently unveiled its plans to collaborate with African digital professionals in order to impart them with a comprehensive set of Green Skills, thereby fostering a sustainable impact within the digital realm.

The project, with its primary objective of bolstering the African digital workforce and entrepreneurial community, centers its efforts on developing influential content pertaining to matters of environmental significance.

Through the strategic utilization of digital media, immersive technologies, and the establishment of collaborative partnerships, ADMI seeks to impart knowledge and instil a sense of empowerment within the younger generation, thereby enabling them to spearhead transformative and constructive change.

Mukui Mbindyo, the Head of Partnerships at ADMI, articulately underscored the institute’s unwavering commitment to fostering a generation of digital professionals who possess the necessary acumen to effectively address and resolve pertinent advocacy matters.

Recognizing the importance of AI

The digital hub seeks to encourage young people to learn about global issues and participate in finding solutions by providing them with access to a variety of resources, including social media, podcasts, webinars, and interactive immersive technologies like augmented reality and virtual reality.

“At ADMI, we believe that knowledge empowers action. Our goal is to provide students with the tools they need to make informed decisions and create meaningful change,” says Mukui Mbindyo.

“We recognize the importance of skills like artificial intelligence, data analysis, and machine learning in comprehending complex issues like climate change. Equally vital are creativity, innovation, and critical thinking, which underpin sustainable practices.”

Through strategic collaborations with esteemed international organisations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and local entities, the institute effectively facilitates the acquisition of practical experience and global perspectives on problem-solving.

Equipping graduates with technical skills

In addition to empowering the kids, this approach also empowers society as a whole while tackling environmental problems from all angles.

Furthermore, it cultivates a comprehensive and culturally pertinent comprehension of sustainability, guaranteeing that students possess the necessary tools to tackle obstacles in a manner that aligns with the specific context at hand.

“We are committed to creating a rich environment that encourages cross-cultural learning and collaboration,” added Mukui Mbindyo.

“Our workshops and discussions delve into the intersection of technology, media, and sustainability within different cultural contexts. This approach equips our graduates with not only technical skills but also a profound commitment to sustainable change.”
