Participants can gain exposure to potential funding, strategic partnerships, and mentorship from tech figures, which can accelerate their growth.

Finalists in each category will be invited to VivaTech 2025 to pitch their ideas to investors, media, and potential partners.

Selection and eligibility

To be eligible, startups must be headquartered in Africa or have a strong market focus. They should also have raised at least $150,000 in funding, demonstrating traction and scalability.

The competition is divided into Green-Tech, E-Health, and E-Commerce/Fintech.

VivaTech says startups provide vital solutions to significant global challenges and help foster sustainable development.

African startups often struggle to raise the capital needed to scale their businesses despite increasing investor interest.

Through the AfricaTech Awards, VivaTech aims to create new opportunities for emerging African startups. The program offers networking and mentoring with tech leaders, major investors, and policymakers.
