Airtel Tanzania introduces Airtel Money Global Pay Card to simplify cross-border transactions

In collaboration with Mastercard and Network International, Airtel Tanzania announced on Saturday the launch of the Airtel Money Global Pay Card, a new frontier in digital commerce and financial inclusion.

Thanks to this revolutionary solution, Tanzanians can now make safe, easy international payments without a traditional bank account. With this innovation, the world is now only a tap away, whether for online shopping, streaming services, educational platforms, or booking travel.

The virtual payment card’s complete integration into the Myairtel App allows for instant activation, TZS top-ups, real-time FX visibility, and worldwide acceptance across thousands of platforms.

What MyAirtel App offers

The MyAirtel App offers a virtual card that reimagines accessibility by enabling banked and unbanked users to conduct international business, education, and leisure transactions.

Many Tanzanians have long struggled with limited card access, currency conversion problems, and high gateway fees when conducting business abroad. Airtel Money Global Pay addresses these issues.

With this creative solution, the business is giving Tanzanians the confidence and ease to enter the global economy.

Airtel recognised as Tanzania’s second-largest dividend payer for 2024–2025 fiscal year

In other news, H.E. President Samia Suluhu Hassan acknowledged Airtel Tanzania as the country’s second-largest dividend payer for the fiscal year 2024–2025.

After giving the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania a check for TZS 73.9 billion for the fiscal year 2024–2025, Airtel Tanzania became the country’s second-largest dividend contributor.

H.E. President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan presided over the Annual Dividend Day 2025 celebration, which was held at the State House in Dar es Salaam to commemorate this milestone.

Airtel Tanzania stated, “Your visionary leadership continues to inspire our mission to support inclusive economic growth, empower communities, and build a digitally connected Tanzania.”

With more than TZS 280 billion in dividends since 2019, Airtel Tanzania has solidified itself as a dependable and consistent partner in the country’s development.

This accomplishment, as the top dividend contributor, demonstrates its dedication to Tanzania’s development, which is supported by solid financial results, operational excellence, and a strong sense of national duty.
