Airtel Zambia has made a significant stride in the realm of telecommunications by officially launching its 5G connectivity.

The launch event, held at the prestigious Intercontinental Hotel on July 25, saw the company’s Regional Director, Mr. Apoorva Mehrotra, take the stage and emphasize Airtel’s commitment to seamless connectivity and digital innovation.

Mr. Mehrotra highlighted the groundbreaking features of Airtel’s 5G network, which offers data speeds up to 10 times faster than its predecessor, 4G, ultra-low latency, and the capacity to connect billions of devices seamlessly. This cutting-edge technology is set to revolutionize various sectors in Zambia, including smart cities, education, healthcare, Agri-tech, transport systems, and entertainment, shaping the future of the nation’s digital landscape. Additionally, Airtel’s 5G network aligns with the government’s vision of encouraging private sector investments and innovation, ultimately benefiting the customers.

The Minister of Technology and Science, Hon. Felix Chipota Mutati, graced the event as the Guest of Honour. He expressed his happiness at witnessing the 5G technology launch, emphasizing its importance for the country’s economic growth.
