Algerian HRTech Startup Talenteo secures investment from Tunisia’s 216 Capital

Talenteo, an Algerian HRTech startup, has raised a six-figure investment from Tunisia-based venture capital firm 216 Capital, announced on Thursday.

This funding will support Talenteo’s expansion into Tunisia and accelerate its growth across Francophone Africa, aiming to transform HR and payroll management for African SMEs.

Talenteo’s innovative HR platform targets African SMEs

In 2022, Tarik Metnani and Louai Djaffer established Talenteo, a SaaS platform tailored to meet African small and medium-sized enterprises’ human resources and payroll requirements (SMEs).

The platform integrates AI, local legal compliance, and automation to streamline employee administration, payroll, talent development, and regulatory compliance.

Talenteo is utilised by more than 150 organisations and 10,000 users to enhance strategic decision-making and minimise repetitive HR duties.

Louai Djaffer, CEO of Talenteo, stated, “We believe company success stems from investing in people. Talenteo was built to help African businesses digitalise their HR processes in support of growth and impact.”

This reflects the startup’s mission to tailor technology to the realities of African markets, where SMEs generate over 80 per cent  of jobs.

216 capital drives Talenteo’s pan-African expansion

216 Capital’s investment is part of its strategy to back startups that are locally rooted yet scalable across the region.

Dhekra Khelifi, Partner at 216 Capital Ventures, said, “Talenteo is the kind of innovation we aim to support — locally rooted, scalable, and built to meet the operational realities of African enterprises.”

The funding will enable Talenteo to establish a presence in Tunisia, accelerate AI-driven platform development, and expand operations in key Francophone African markets.

216 Capital, with a €10 million fund, focuses on seed investments averaging €250,000, supporting startups that disrupt technology and regional markets.

The firm also leverages Tunisia’s talent pool and academic resources to boost its portfolio companies, creating synergies across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.

This partnership marks a strategic step for Talenteo to become a leading digital HR player in Africa. It addresses the continent’s growing workforce and the need for efficient HR solutions tailored to local contexts.
