Algérie Télécom has announced the launch of a groundbreaking high-speed internet package, set to debut November 14. Offering a bandwidth of up to 1.2 Gbps, this is the first of its kind on the African continent. The package is part of the company’s Idoom Fibre products and represents a significant leap in Algeria’s digital infrastructure, positioning the country as a leader in technological innovation in Africa.

Algérie Télécom disclosed the specifics of this unique offer to demonstrate its commitment to providing ultra-high-speed internet services. With the launch of this package, Algeria becomes the continent’s leader in technical innovation. The company’s primary goal is to provide high-speed internet to urban and rural parts of Algeria by spreading fibre optic internet throughout the country.

The announcement was made at the regional workshop organised by Algérie Télécom in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). This event, titled “Towards Inclusive and Meaningful Connectivity in the Arab Region,” enabled the company to emphasise further the importance of globally competitive internet infrastructure in achieving high-speed connectivity.

Expanding the Idoom Fibre Portfolio

The new internet package is just one part of Algérie Télécom’s broader strategy to improve its offerings and meet growing customer demand. Alongside the 1.2 Gbps package, the company has introduced additional pricing tiers to cater to a range of needs:

  • 1.2 Gbps: 4,200 DZD/month
  • 240 Mbps: 2,800 DZD/month
  • 120 Mbps: 2,600 DZD/month
  • 60 Mbps: 2,400 DZD/month
  • 30 Mbps: 2,200 DZD/month

Commitment to Nationwide High-Speed Internet Coverage

Algérie Télécom’s decision to extend the Idoom Fibre promotion reaffirms its commitment to expanding fibre-optic internet coverage across Algeria. This initiative reflects the company’s determination to provide customers with exceptional internet services and to play a central role in enhancing the country’s digital infrastructure.
