According to reports, Apple is working on a thinner iPhone that will come out in 2025. The Information reports that the new model, code-named D23, will likely be released at the same time as the iPhone 17 in September 2025.

This advanced version of the iPhone is anticipated to carry a higher price tag than the current iPhone Pro Max and may feature Apple’s latest-generation processor, potentially named the A19.

The gadget may sport a 6.12–6.69-inch screen with a smaller Dynamic Island cutout for the front-facing camera and sensors.

The rear cameras on this next iPhone model might be moved from the upper-left corner of the back to the top centre, according to another individual who has firsthand knowledge of the change.

Additionally, the phone is expected to include Apple’s latest A19 processor and an improved front camera for better video calls and selfies.

Apple is developing ideas for this thinner iPhone, which might postpone its availability beyond 2025.

The new model is expected to be more expensive than the current iPhone Pro Max, which starts at $1,199.

Enhancing the iPhone: Apple’s Move to Stay Ahead

Apple’s approach to improving its main product in the face of growing competition is shown by its decision to build a more streamlined iPhone.

The Cupertino-based tech giant faces stiff rivalry from Chinese brands Honor and Huawei and global leader Samsung Electronics.

In the first quarter of 2024, Samsung led the smartphone market with a 20.8 per cent share, while Apple held 17.3 per cent.

Amid this competitive environment, Apple announced a decrease in iPhone sales of 10.5%, which ultimately amounted to 45.96 billion US dollars during the second quarter of the fiscal year.

The source indicated that Apple intends to offer a cheaper successor to the iPhone SE in the spring of 2025 and implement the new small iPhone. Additionally, Apple intends to discontinue the iPhone Plus model.

The news comes days after Apple unveiled its latest iPad Pro with a new chip for artificial intelligence computing. It rushes to catch up with its Big Tech rivals in a race to dominate the emerging technology.
