Applications are closing soon for Ernst & Young’s 2025 SDG Accelerator, a six-month programme designed to support women-led AI startups across Africa, Latin America, and Asia. Female entrepreneurs addressing global challenges with artificial intelligence have until June 15 to apply for the opportunity to access expert coaching, investor networks, and global visibility.

The EY SDG Accelerator targets startups that harness AI to tackle pressing issues such as climate change, food insecurity, financial inclusion, and inequality. The initiative is supported by strategic partners including Microsoft, Women’s World Banking, and Bright Tide, aiming to empower women entrepreneurs who are leading innovative solutions in sectors critical to sustainable development.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible, applicants must be female founders, co-founders, or owners of legally incorporated enterprises operating in Africa, Latin America, South Asia, or Southeast Asia. The business must have been operational for at least one year and utilise artificial intelligence in a manner that enhances social impact while adhering to responsible AI practices. EY is particularly interested in ventures addressing pressing challenges within sectors such as clean energy, agriculture, financial inclusion, and education.

Participants must also demonstrate the potential for scale, both in terms of impact and financial growth. Strong leadership is a must—the lead applicant should be the CEO or managing director with significant decision-making authority. Since the programme will be conducted in English, proficiency in the language is also required.

Key benefits of the EY SDG accelerator

Over the course of six months, selected founders will gain access to a one-on-one business coach from EY, along with professional development sessions covering AI applications, growth strategies, and ethical tech practices. The programme also includes entry into a global network of investors, corporates, and fellow entrepreneurs focused on tech for good.

Beyond technical support, participants will join peer-to-peer learning calls and gain promotional exposure through EY and its partners’ platforms. These benefits are designed not only to grow the ventures themselves but also to amplify the visibility of women-led innovations from the Global South on the international stage.
