Ayoba app has revealed that it has surpassed the threshold of 25 million monthly active users in Africa.

This announcement came on the same day that the company was celebrating its fourth year in business.

This represents an increase from the 20 million monthly active users that were present in December 2022. The platform is accessible all around the world, but it has a significant emphasis on operating within the African continent. Nigeria, Cameroon, South Africa, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Uganda, and the Republic of the Congo are some of the most important territories.

Ayoba has prioritised the development of improved communication and content features thus far in the year 2023.

These have been very warmly welcomed, as seen by the 35% rise in messages as well as the 16% increase in both the number of tales and VoIP calls. 88 million cards have been viewed by users across all channels, covering a wide range of topics like entertainment, education, food, fashion, and more.

A huge step forward for the Android version of ayoba, the new ‘explore’ main page, was released recently. This page, which is now in the pilot phase, will eventually be pushed out to all of the main territories. It highlights our themes to our readers while bringing a streamlined style for simple navigation through the carefully curated high-quality content that Ayoba has compiled.

New Features added to Ayoba

A direct shortcut to the microapp’s vertical was added to the bottom navigation bar during the first quarter at ayoba, which was another key evolution in the microapp’s vertical that occurred during this period. This area, which is referred to as an emerging “ecosystem for small African business,” gives service providers simple access to the existing user base of ayoba with no work required on their part. Some larger businesses are included in this category as well.

The microapps ‘live scores’ (which gives users access to the most recent sports results), ‘ayoba gifts’, ‘video play apps’,’sports,’ and’shopping’ are now the most popular ones on the market.

Ayoba was initially developed in collaboration with MTN, and it is now accessible on all networks. Users of the Ayoba platform in some participating territories are eligible to receive free daily data, which increases the platform’s value proposition*. Based on its current growth trajectory, Ayoba is well positioned to meet MTN’s Ambition 2025 target of 100 million monthly active users by the end of the 2025 calendar year.

What Ayoba’s CEO is Saying

“25 million is a significant milestone to pass on our fourth birthday,” says CEO Burak Akinci. “Our journey has been transformative, and the positive response from our users fuels our drive for innovation. Our users are at the heart of our progress, and we are grateful for their support.”

“The first four months of 2023 was a period of significant growth and development for ayoba. We have improved our socialization and messaging functionalities, enhanced our microapp experience and added many more features,” Akinci says.
