Bitcoin Events, the organiser of Africa’s blockchain and cryptocurrency conferences, has announced the return of the Blockchain Africa Conference 2025, scheduled to take place on October 30, in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.
Now in its 11th edition, the “Ready for Business” conference is expected to attract various stakeholders, including industry leaders, investors, innovators, developers, and crypto enthusiasts from across Africa and worldwide.
The event will offer insights into how the technology is practically applied across industries, such as finance, identity management, trade and asset tokenisation.
The Blockchain Africa Conference 2025 will feature Web3
“Blockchain and crypto technologies have moved beyond speculation to become integral to the operations of leading global companies and critical to Africa’s economic transformation,” the organisers noted.
As part of this shift, the 2025 conference will feature expert-led panel discussions, practical workshops, and networking sessions to foster collaboration in Africa’s Web3 space.
Attendees can expect deep conversations on timely issues such as:
The impact of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) on Africa’s digital economy.
The evolving regulatory landscape in South Africa and what it means for crypto adoption.
The role of stablecoins in driving cross-border trade and financial inclusion.
Tokenisation of real-world assets which could unlock liquidity across African markets.
The intersection of blockchain, digital identity, and artificial intelligence (AI) in building Africa’s digital future.
Africa continues to lead the world in crypto adoption, with an estimated 12 percent of the population engaging with digital assets, and over 40 million Africans using cryptocurrencies.
“The continent is rapidly becoming a global leader in digital asset adoption,” Bitcoin Events added, citing Nigeria and Kenya as standout markets.
Nigeria, for instance, boasts one of the highest crypto adoption rates globally, driven by remittance use, inflation hedging, and peer-to-peer trading, while Kenya has made major strides in integrating DeFi and mobile money.
The Blockchain Africa Conference 2025 comes at a time when the global crypto market is gaining momentum due to increased institutional interest, regulatory clarity in various jurisdictions, and a growing appetite for tokenised assets.
The event is positioned as a hub for both policy and practical innovation, with South Africa leading efforts to create a more structured crypto regulatory environment.
While the Crypto Fest 2025 is also planned for later in the year, Bitcoin Events describes the Blockchain Africa Conference as its “flagship event for deep industry insights and strategic discussions”, especially in positioning Africa within the global blockchain economy.
