BlacVolta, Africa’s biggest digital media and entertainment platform, formally unveiled its BlacVolta App and BlacVolta Visa Lifestyle Card.
The launch occurred at the Africa FinTech Summit, which was held at the Accra International Conference Centre. The summit brought together more than 2,000 international fintech professionals, investors, and innovators to explore the future of financial technology in Africa.
What the BlacVolta App offers
Through the BlacVolta App, users can seamlessly access Ghana’s dynamic lifestyle, events, nightlife, and hospitality ecosystem, introducing a new frontier where fintech and entertainment collide. The BlacVolta Visa Lifestyle Card, a premium lifestyle and payment solution created in collaboration with Shrinq and powered by Visa and First Atlantic Bank, is a perfect match for the app.
Access and convenience in Africa’s entertainment scene are redefined by the card’s exclusive benefits, which include express entry, curated experiences, and discounts at prestigious venues.
BlacVolta’s CEO expresses optimism
BlacVolta’s founder and CEO, Joseph Adjei, spoke at the launch and called it a daring step for African innovation and ownership: “This is more than a product launch—it’s a statement of intent. We’re building a system that connects culture, creativity, and commerce while empowering Africans to take ownership of their lifestyle experiences. The BlacVolta ecosystem makes payments and access seamless for both locals and the diaspora returning home this December.”
Furthermore, BlacVolta’s Strategy and Commercialisation Lead, Foster Akugri, highlighted the organisation’s long-term goal: “Our mission goes beyond convenience. We’re positioning BlacVolta as the infrastructure for Africa’s entertainment and creative economy—bridging fintech and culture to create real economic value for people and partners across the continent.”
A significant milestone has been reached with the release of the BlacVolta Visa Lifestyle Card and BlacVolta App for Ghanaian users, ahead of the “December in Ghana” holiday season. Together, they signify a new era for the entertainment industry in Africa, one driven by creativity, inclusivity, and experience.
