The California-based company, Brave Software, is now an official sponsor of the Kenya NFT Summit, as was recently announced. The Kenya National Financial Technology and Artificial Intelligence Summit will return to the Alliance Francaise in Nairobi, Kenya, for its second iteration.

The most recent developments in technology will be highlighted at the art event, which will also feature a panel discussion with representatives from the United Nations, Alliance Francaise, HUG, and other organizations. Participants on the panel will discuss their predictions about the long-term effects of new technology on East African societies.

Sharing the power and promise of art and technology as a creative medium and tool for Africans is the purpose of this exhibit, and the exhibit’s name reflects that ambition. There are currently 75 works of art that have been submitted. This event will feature an exhibition of a total of 18 pieces of artwork, all of which were produced by artists of African descent and were inspired by the theme “The Future of Africa.”

The level of sponsorship that Brave has achieved for this event is bronze. The fact that Kenya is in the lead in terms of Web 3 adoption across the East African area is probably what prompted the corporation with headquarters in San Francisco to offer its support.

Innovations from Brave

In the desktop version 1.51 of Brave, which was released in May, a new functionality was included. The function in question is known as automated NFT pinning. As part of this functionality, the metadata of compatible NFTs is uploaded to the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) in order to provide additional layers of protection.

According to the company’s website, “When we say “pinning,” we mean instructing IPFS to retain a file in a designated location permanently, ensuring constant accessibility.”

Users successfully vary the protection they have against the loss of data when they pin a file in different locations. Because of this, its resistance to damage is improved over the long term.

About Brave NFT

Brave is a web browser that prioritizes security and privacy is open-source and free to use. It is set up to automatically block the vast majority of trackers and advertising on websites by default. Users also have the option to activate voluntary advertisements, which will reward them with Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for their time spent engaging with the content. These tokens can operate as a form of cryptocurrency or be used to make payments to websites and content creators that have been vetted and approved.

Since February 2021, the Brave web browser has shown a strong interest in participating in the Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) market. Users have been given the chance to purchase NFTs from the Swag Store within the browser. Origin Protocol is utilized to assist in the operation of the retail outlet.

As a result of the partnership between Brave and Origin, the Swag Store now accepts cryptocurrency as a form of payment, making it easier to make NFT purchases. Additionally, Brave’s freshly created Ethereum-native wallet will be able to enable DeFi and NFT applications when it is released later this year.
